“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.”
These words by D’Angelo Anthony explain how I feel about the importance of education for my students as well as myself. I constantly want to learn more about being a resourceful teacher and utilize best practices to help my students reach their full potential. The love of learning has always been a strength of mine and I want my students to have that same passion.
In 2007, I graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and a minor in Psychology.
After graduating, I realized my path in life was to be a teacher! I became certified to teach early childhood - fourth grade in 2008 and added the English as a Second Language certification in 2009.
In December 2012, I graduated with a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Literacy through the University of Texas at Arlington.
I have been married for seven years to a great guy named Josh. He is a branch manager for Woodforest National Bank. We are blessed to be parents to an amazing, happy boy named Holden.
We love spending time with our 8 year old black lab named Cash. Most of my writing workshop stories revolve around them. If the kids come home talking about Mr. Josh, Holden, and Cash, now you know who they are.
Thank you for sharing your child with me this year! My goal is for us to work together for our student to get the best education possible.
