Our goal at Reaves is for every student to have a healthy and successful school year! Children are the main spread of infection such as colds and flu. Please reinforce with your child to wash their hands frequently and keep their hands away from their mouth, nose and eyes.
Students are sent home from school for the following guidelines per CDC:
- Fever of 100.0 or higher(They must stay home until fever free for 24 hours without medication)
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Suspected contagious disease (such as pink eye, poss strep throat or rash)
- A student not feeling well enough and who cannot function in the classroom(such as excessive, uncontrollable coughing)
These guidelines are to help prevent the spread of illness throughout the school.
You may call the school to report an absence or send a note when they return to school.
Student Health Information is kept in the clinic and used for emergencies. PLEASE keep the clinic and front office updated with phone number changes. We need to be able to reach a parent/guardian in the event of an emergency!
Hearing and Vision Screening is conducted each year in the fall on Pre-K, K, 1st and 3rd grades and any new student to the district in 2nd and 4th grades. A referral form is sent home when a student does not pass the screening exam. Students who receive a vision/hearing referral need to be seen by a doctor to determine if there is a problem. If a student has a problem with their vision and hearing, this can affect their ability to learn.
